Description

In this luminous work, Jean-Yves Fremeaux captures the fragile and precious moment of a walk along the shores of Lake Annecy. The composition opens with a sunny perspective where the path runs alongside sailboats, while majestic mountains, capped with sparkling snow, rise on the horizon under a vibrant azure sky dotted with clouds.

The painter plays with texture and colour: intense blues, as deep as the lake water, blend with autumnal ochres and greens, offering a striking contrast. Light, the true thread running through the scene, envelops the figures in the foreground, a mother and her child, simple and universal figures who embody the gentleness of a moment of sharing.

The energetic, almost tactile brushstrokes convey the liveliness of the air, the rustling of the leaves and the sparkle of the reflections. Fremeaux does not simply depict a landscape: he recreates an atmosphere, an emotion, a memory that everyone can relate to.

Presentation

Jean-Yves Fremaux is a French figurative painter, born in 1947 in Marcq en Baroeul, near Lille. He studied medicine in Lille and moved on the banks of the Annecy lake. He initially began his career in painting, exclusively with complex watercolor art and did this for several years. This is when he made a name for himself. He then moved onto oil and palette knife painting, to express his universe and passion.

Jean-Yves Fremaux cultivated a figurative vision, which was out of sync and poetic. The artist is able to restyle architectures, chiaroscuro and moments of life with great expertise. The artist doesn't use any artistic movement, trendy phenomenons and doesn't paint for appearance sake, he paints for simple happiness and feels fulfilled when a viewer is enthralled in front of his work.
