Description
The Parisian architecture awakens under a soft, morning light. This painting captures the serene effervescence of an emblematic square. The eye surveys the classic facades, treated with rigorous precision.
The work with a knife brings relief to the volumes. The brushstrokes are bold. They structure the buildings and animate the street.
A palette of light tones dominates the composition. The pale sky contrasts with the golden details of the building's top.
In the foreground, anonymous silhouettes are active. A bus crosses the scene, bringing a note of contemporary color. The artist favors a figurative and poetic approach. He transforms an everyday moment into a timeless scene.
This oil painting, created in 2025, plays with contrasts and natural light. The composition emphasizes the grandeur of the urban perspectives. The whole ends with the meticulous rendering of the wrought-iron lampposts lining the road.
Presentation
Jean-Yves Fremaux is a French figurative painter, born in 1947 in Marcq en Baroeul, near Lille. He studied medicine in Lille and moved on the banks of the Annecy lake. He initially began his career in painting, exclusively with complex watercolor art and did this for several years. This is when he made a name for himself. He then moved onto oil and palette knife painting, to express his universe and passion.
Jean-Yves Fremaux cultivated a figurative vision, which was out of sync and poetic. The artist is able to restyle architectures, chiaroscuro and moments of life with great expertise. The artist doesn't use any artistic movement, trendy phenomenons and doesn't paint for appearance sake, he paints for simple happiness and feels fulfilled when a viewer is enthralled in front of his work.
