Description
A place bathed in light. The brush captures the effervescence of an urban afternoon. The ochre and cream facades rise with an elegant simplicity. The touches of paint are bold. The pale blue sky brings a welcome breath to the composition.
In the center, anonymous silhouettes animate the space. The couple in the foreground guides the eye toward the depth of the scene. A few white parasols suggest the presence of terraces and the mildness of the climate. The ground, treated in shades of gray and blue, reflects the clarity of the day.
The chromatic balance rests on the contrast between the warmth of the walls and the coolness of the sky. The perspective is mastered, creating a natural vanishing point between the buildings. Each brushstroke emphasizes the architecture while maintaining a certain freedom of execution. The whole exudes a serene and luminous atmosphere. The detail of a vertical lamppost structures the space vertically.
Presentation
Jean-Yves Fremaux is a French figurative painter, born in 1947 in Marcq en Baroeul, near Lille. He studied medicine in Lille and moved on the banks of the Annecy lake. He initially began his career in painting, exclusively with complex watercolor art and did this for several years. This is when he made a name for himself. He then moved onto oil and palette knife painting, to express his universe and passion.
Jean-Yves Fremaux cultivated a figurative vision, which was out of sync and poetic. The artist is able to restyle architectures, chiaroscuro and moments of life with great expertise. The artist doesn't use any artistic movement, trendy phenomenons and doesn't paint for appearance sake, he paints for simple happiness and feels fulfilled when a viewer is enthralled in front of his work.
