Description
This captivating artwork depicts a seated woman, tying her hair, in a pose imbued with grace and intimacy. Warm tones of brown, ochre, and beige dominate the canvas, lending a warm and sensual atmosphere. The technique employed, a blend of fluid brushstrokes and rigorous textures, accentuates the softness of the feminine curves while introducing an intriguing visual dynamic. The play of light and shadow skillfully emphasizes the volumes of the body, creating a captivating depth. The contrast between the centralized figure and the abstract background, formed of geometric shapes, offers a remarkable aesthetic balance. This juxtaposition evokes a harmonious tension between figuration and abstraction, thus engaging the viewer in a lasting contemplation of this intimate and expressive scene.
Presentation
Laetitia DEMORTREUX was born in 1976 in Paris.
Graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in 2001. The gaze evolves on the fields and architectures treated with breadth, subject to the rhythm of a warm palette in shades of Naples Yellow and Sienna Earth. At first glance, the forms seem to reach the simplicity of abstract art, but quickly the elements emerge and carry the spectator far from his vision on a human scale, in a true Flight. After having exhibited in Parisian Galleries and Salons (Salon ART CAPITAL, Salon de la Marine, SNBA, Salon des Indépendants), Laetitia exhibited in Italy (Milan, Siena). She currently presents her work in Australia via the OFFMARKET Gallery in Perth. Laetitia is a member of the Taylor Foundation.
