Archeology of the Soul, 2025

Anna Selina

This painting invites a voyage into the inner landscape, depicted as a geological portrait of memory and feeling. Swirling currents of blue, lavender, and pale violet weave through the canvas, while warmer hints of peach and soft coral emerge like buried shards awaiting discovery. The composition reads as an excavation: layers of emotion are revealed and reorganized as the eye travels across the surface, guided by energetic brushstrokes that spike outward from a luminous center. Delicate flecks of color, plus occasional dark accents, create a sense of depth and tension, suggesting that meaning is both found and crafted beneath the surface. The piece balances motion with restraint, offering a contemplative mood amid dynamic gesture. Light seems to move with the forms, giving the work a cinematic, ever-changing quality that invites repeated looking. Suitable for contemporary interiors, it promises to resonate with viewers as they reflect on their own passages, discoveries, and growth. Signed in the lower right by the artist.
