Description
This work perfectly illustrates the artist's unique approach, rooted in abstraction and the pursuit of light. On raw cotton canvas, acrylic paint unfolds in broad strokes and dynamic compositions, echoing the inner landscapes the artist enjoys exploring. The chosen colors, nuanced and vibrant, seem to converse, translating the visual diversity of the real world, such as the contrasts between nature and architecture that inspire Laura Soulier daily. The expansive forms and more precise passages testify to a constant interplay of gaze and body around the canvas, lending the work a subtle tension between spontaneity and the search for balance. B2501 thus stands out for its purity and expressiveness, revealing the artist's vitality and sensitivity to her surroundings.
Presentation
Laura Soulier, a contemporary French painter born in 1992 in Marseille, currently lives and works in Bierné, Mayenne. Her work stems from an attentive and sensitive observation of the world around her, which she interprets with freedom and abstraction on the canvas.
She initially explored her ideas through small-format works, searching for compositions and chromatic harmonies. These "studies," veritable creative laboratories, became the foundation for her future paintings. When she moved to larger formats, her works gained in spatiality: dynamic and airy, they command attention with their presence.
Laura Soulier works simultaneously on several canvases, constantly moving back and forth between them to continually refresh her perspective. Seated on the floor, she moves around her works, constantly changing her viewpoint. The creative process is punctuated by the drying times between each layer, moments when she steps back to reflect.
The result? A resolutely free and personal work, reflecting a keen sensitivity to the environment that inspires him.
