Description
This work, entitled A2501, is fully in keeping with the exploratory approach of Laura Soulier, a painter and interior designer. The canvas offers an immersion into a universe where color and light interact, evoking inner landscapes and fleeting sensations. The fluid, almost liquid, superimposed forms, where blue dominates and converses with touches of green and white, translate a plastic synthesis of reality, guided by the attentive observation of the surrounding nature and the changing light. The interplay of transparency and variations in the intensity of the flat areas of color testify to the importance of gesture and time in her creation. Laura Soulier emphasizes freedom in composition and this time covers the entire canvas with raw cotton, giving the whole a denser feel while remaining true to her ever more refined pictorial quest.
Presentation
Laura Soulier, a contemporary French painter born in 1992 in Marseille, currently lives and works in Bierné, Mayenne. Her work stems from an attentive and sensitive observation of the world around her, which she interprets with freedom and abstraction on the canvas.
She initially explored her ideas through small-format works, searching for compositions and chromatic harmonies. These "studies," veritable creative laboratories, became the foundation for her future paintings. When she moved to larger formats, her works gained in spatiality: dynamic and airy, they command attention with their presence.
Laura Soulier works simultaneously on several canvases, constantly moving back and forth between them to continually refresh her perspective. Seated on the floor, she moves around her works, constantly changing her viewpoint. The creative process is punctuated by the drying times between each layer, moments when she steps back to reflect.
The result? A resolutely free and personal work, reflecting a keen sensitivity to the environment that inspires him.
