Description
This work is distinguished by its palette of pastel tones, dominated by greens and grays, enriched with touches of pink and blue that lend rhythm to the composition. This piece reflects the artist's approach, based on a sensitive observation of reality and a free translation into abstract forms, exploring spatiality and light through the layering of paint. On a raw cotton canvas mounted in a shadow box frame, the colors are arranged in subtle masses and light vibrations, evoking both the gentleness of landscapes and the dynamism of the brushstroke. Laura Soulier imbues this work with a singular presence, guided by her quest for refinement and her intuitive relationship with nature and changing light.
Presentation
Laura Soulier, a contemporary French painter born in 1992 in Marseille, currently lives and works in Bierné, Mayenne. Her work stems from an attentive and sensitive observation of the world around her, which she interprets with freedom and abstraction on the canvas.
She initially explored her ideas through small-format works, searching for compositions and chromatic harmonies. These "studies," veritable creative laboratories, became the foundation for her future paintings. When she moved to larger formats, her works gained in spatiality: dynamic and airy, they command attention with their presence.
Laura Soulier works simultaneously on several canvases, constantly moving back and forth between them to continually refresh her perspective. Seated on the floor, she moves around her works, constantly changing her viewpoint. The creative process is punctuated by the drying times between each layer, moments when she steps back to reflect.
The result? A resolutely free and personal work, reflecting a keen sensitivity to the environment that inspires him.
