Description
The artwork F2402 is part of a trio (F2401, F2402, F2403) in which a marine atmosphere unfolds in shades of gray, blue, and cloud, punctuated by warm ochre touches. The three canvases intertwine like a single breath, evoking mists and uncertain horizons where the sea merges with the sky. On raw cotton canvas, superimposed translucent planes create veiled depths, while fluid movements traverse the panels, mimicking the undulation of waves or the drift of clouds. Each work carries a dynamic tension: taut lines responding to ethereal masses, in an airy spatiality characteristic of the abstract synthesis of reality. Together, they capture the essence of a misty coastline, where the marine element dictates rhythm and color in a refined harmony.
Presentation
Laura Soulier, a contemporary French painter born in 1992 in Marseille, currently lives and works in Bierné, Mayenne. Her work stems from an attentive and sensitive observation of the world around her, which she interprets with freedom and abstraction on the canvas.
She initially explored her ideas through small-format works, searching for compositions and chromatic harmonies. These "studies," veritable creative laboratories, became the foundation for her future paintings. When she moved to larger formats, her works gained in spatiality: dynamic and airy, they command attention with their presence.
Laura Soulier works simultaneously on several canvases, constantly moving back and forth between them to continually refresh her perspective. Seated on the floor, she moves around her works, constantly changing her viewpoint. The creative process is punctuated by the drying times between each layer, moments when she steps back to reflect.
The result? A resolutely free and personal work, reflecting a keen sensitivity to the environment that inspires him.
