Description
This striking composition, with its soothing tones, presents a minimalist horizon where geometric blocks of color stand out against a blue-gray sky. The rectangles, in varying shades of white, blue, brown, and red, evoke a sense of depth and calm, accentuating a subtle contrast between warm and cool hues. Set against a textured gray surface, they seem to emerge gently, reminiscent of urban or coastal landscapes. The artist's mastery lies in the perfect balance between the simplicity of the forms and the richness of the colors. This painting captures the essence of quiet tranquility, while inviting the viewer to contemplate the harmonious interplay of lines, colors, and textures. A work that embodies the beauty of modern simplicity.
Presentation
For the last 30 years, Henri De Quatrebarbes's style, recognizable through its extrordinary color palette, has evolved between two modes of expression : one very simple, based on surfaces of color separated by lines and simple geometric shapes, and another "baroque" universe, in which colors form a ballet in perpetual movement.
In parallel to his studies, Henri De Quatrebarbes has taken for many years drawing and painting courses at the Galerie du Bac, in Paris. During these years he has acquired a great mastery of the techniques he uses and combines.
For the artist, having a different occupation than his practice is a necessity. Henri De Quatrebarbes needs to take part in the life of the community, have a normal everyday life in order to be able to pursue, in parallel, his personal aesthetic research and his inner oniic universe. Henri De Quatrebarbes's creative approach shows the confrontation between the exterior world and the universe of his dreams.
