Description
This captivating painting presents a minimalist view of a coastal landscape. Dominating the work, an intense blue sky meets a dark expanse of water, creating a striking contrast. On the horizon, a thin strip of land appears, subtly blending earthy and silvery tones. This clear separation between sky, land, and sea accentuates the immensity of each element. The diffuse, almost ethereal light adds a dreamlike and mysterious depth to the scene. The artist plays with soft textures and varied shades, evoking an atmosphere of calm and contemplation. With its elegant simplicity, this work encourages reflection, offering a visual escape while leaving room for the imagination.
Presentation
For the last 30 years, Henri De Quatrebarbes's style, recognizable through its extrordinary color palette, has evolved between two modes of expression : one very simple, based on surfaces of color separated by lines and simple geometric shapes, and another "baroque" universe, in which colors form a ballet in perpetual movement.
In parallel to his studies, Henri De Quatrebarbes has taken for many years drawing and painting courses at the Galerie du Bac, in Paris. During these years he has acquired a great mastery of the techniques he uses and combines.
For the artist, having a different occupation than his practice is a necessity. Henri De Quatrebarbes needs to take part in the life of the community, have a normal everyday life in order to be able to pursue, in parallel, his personal aesthetic research and his inner oniic universe. Henri De Quatrebarbes's creative approach shows the confrontation between the exterior world and the universe of his dreams.
