Description
This complex work presents an abstract composition dominated by earthy tones. A pale green background envelops the painting, creating a calming atmosphere. At the center, a bold juxtaposition of geometric shapes emerges, with shades of white, brown, and red. These earthy colors contrast harmoniously with the background, establishing a captivating visual tension. A strategically placed touch of bright red draws the eye and introduces an energetic dimension to the composition. At the base, dark shades firmly anchor the whole. This contrast between light and dark lends the work remarkable depth. The rich texture and vigorous application of the paint reveal an underlying emotional intensity. The harmony of colors and the dynamism of forms captivate the viewer, inviting contemplation of the hidden meanings beyond appearances. This work is a masterful example of abstract art, combining mystery and balance.
Presentation
For the last 30 years, Henri De Quatrebarbes's style, recognizable through its extrordinary color palette, has evolved between two modes of expression : one very simple, based on surfaces of color separated by lines and simple geometric shapes, and another "baroque" universe, in which colors form a ballet in perpetual movement.
In parallel to his studies, Henri De Quatrebarbes has taken for many years drawing and painting courses at the Galerie du Bac, in Paris. During these years he has acquired a great mastery of the techniques he uses and combines.
For the artist, having a different occupation than his practice is a necessity. Henri De Quatrebarbes needs to take part in the life of the community, have a normal everyday life in order to be able to pursue, in parallel, his personal aesthetic research and his inner oniic universe. Henri De Quatrebarbes's creative approach shows the confrontation between the exterior world and the universe of his dreams.
