Description
This artwork is an intriguing blend of collage and abstract composition. Dominated by a weathered brown paper as the base, it exudes a vintage aura. A diagonal band of pastel blue with delicate white floral patterns cuts across, introducing a soft, serene contrast. To the right, a small monochrome photograph of an unidentified individual adds an enigmatic, personal touch, inviting curiosity about their story. The clean black rectangles, with their precise lines, provide a stark geometric framework that brings modernity and order to the piece. The juxtaposition of worn textures with crisp, minimalistic elements creates a compelling tension, highlighting themes of time, memory, and identity. This artwork's strength lies in its ability to weave disparate elements into a cohesive narrative while leaving room for interpretation and introspection.
Presentation
My works play with remains of various, almost all precarious, materials: papers, cardboard, paints, photographs, found objects..., which are combined through a technique that owes a lot to collage. In most cases, the arrangement of the fragments and the randomness of the composition lead the observer into a labyrinth that demands to be interpreted. The confluence of disparate elements resists the inadequacy of a rigid, obsolete system, opening up to a chaos that points towards the configuration of a new order.
