Accueillir les larmes…, 2015

Shank Arte

This bold artwork features a young boy at its center, wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the Batman logo, a symbol of strength and mystery. The canvas is distinguished by its dynamic use of color, with an intense red background evoking passion and a sense of turbulence. The boy's precisely rendered features captivate with their determined expression. He holds a stick, adding an enigmatic dimension to the scene. His blue pants contrast with the surrounding warm tones, accentuating his central role. The artist manages to merge reality and imagination, creating a universe where childhood and heroism converge. The background suggests a whirlwind of thoughts or emotions, reflecting the complexity of the subject's inner world. Through its striking composition, this painting challenges and invites reflection on the themes of identity and courage.

Thanks to Isabelle Filliozat for her book, *Au cœur des émotions* (At the Heart of Emotions), which contributed to the development of this series on the childhoods of superheroes. The idea here is to reflect on how to care for the child within us, whether it's the child within us or the real one. I use the mythology of superheroes because sometimes "we" didn't know how to care for them as children, whereas they will later care for others.
