Description
Saskia was Rembrandt's wife and often served as his model. In a 1642 portrait, through her luxurious attire and attitude, he transforms her into almost a princess, immortalizing his beloved for eternity.
In this contemporary reinterpretation, in the form of a landscape, I reuse part of Rembrandt's color harmony. The oil paint application was particularly careful to achieve a beautiful color quality. The composition, made up of horizontal bands, suggests the horizon, effects of light, and the overall solar radiation.
This warm creation, seemingly close to "Color Field" painting, does not, however, dispense with perspective and depth. An elegant and very original painting that pays a vibrant tribute to the Dutch master.
Presentation
A professional artist since 1995, Eric Winzenried lives in western France. Passionate about landscapes, both real and imagined, he has made them the heart of his work. His exploration of color and synthesis has naturally led him to contemporary landscape painting, while maintaining a high standard of quality in his creations. His series are resolutely abstract, where contemplation and aesthetics take center stage. For him, landscape is much more than a subject: it is a space of freedom where color becomes a language. Convinced of the influence of color on the body and mind, he crafts creations imbued with harmony, offering a unique visual and emotional experience.
