Description
RE 30 is an abstract oil painting created in 2025, emerging from a process-based approach to painting in which reduction and concentration play a central role. The work developed gradually, without a predetermined composition, through repeated layering, adjustment, and restraint. Rather than accumulating visual complexity, the painting moves toward clarity by limiting form, gesture, and color relationships.
The composition is structured around horizontal zones that give the painting a sense of calm stability. Muted green tones form the foundation of the image, over which softer passages of blue, grey, and warm earthy hues are layered. These colors interact subtly, creating gentle transitions rather than sharp contrasts. The palette remains restrained, allowing small variations in tone and density to become perceptible and meaningful.
The surface of RE 30 reveals the traces of its making. Brushstrokes, softened edges, and slight irregularities testify to moments of revision and reconsideration. Paint has been applied, reduced, and allowed to settle, resulting in a surface that feels both controlled and open. Nothing appears decorative or incidental; each layer contributes to a balanced, quietly resolved state.
With its format of 40 × 30 cm, RE 30 occupies an intimate scale that supports close and attentive viewing. The painting does not present a focal point or narrative structure. Instead, it functions as a contemplative field, encouraging the viewer to engage with rhythm, proportion, and material presence. Time becomes an essential component, as the work unfolds gradually through sustained observation.
RE 30 exemplifies an approach to contemporary abstraction that values restraint, process, and material awareness. It is a work that resists immediacy in favor of depth and subtlety, offering collectors a painting that integrates quietly into space while maintaining a strong internal coherence.

Born in Bad Segeberg, my life's journey has taken me to vibrant locales such as Brazil, Spain, and the USA. I pursued my passion for art at the prestigious Falmouth School of Art and Design in England and complemented this with a diploma in Geography from Marburg University.
Since 1997, I have had the privilege of showcasing my work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in cultural hubs like Antwerp, Berlin, Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, and Mainz. My artistic journey also involves organizing workshops focused on experimental and expressive painting, sharing my techniques and vision with fellow art enthusiasts.
From 2007 to 2014, I operated a production gallery in Mainz, fostering a creative community. Since 2014, I have been based at my studio in Langendellschlag 62, Wiesbaden, where my creative ideas come to life. In 2021, I expanded my artistic reach by opening "ARTLET," a dedicated art outlet in the heart of the city, making my work more accessible to a broader audience.
My diverse experiences and passion for art continue to drive my creativity, allowing me to inspire and be inspired in return.
