This painting is a free and pictorial interpretation of the iconic photograph of Laura Palmer from David Lynch's Twin Peaks series. The face, depicted with closed eyes, seems suspended between sleep, memory, and oblivion, evoking the blurred line between innocence and tragedy that runs throughout the series.
The paint is applied in broad, thick, almost sculpted strokes, revealing the artist's gestures and a constant vibration of the surface. The cool colors—blues, grays, and whites—contrast with the muted warmth of the skin tones and lips, reinforcing the emotional tension of the portrait. The features are not static: they fragment and recompose themselves, like a distorted memory or a dissolving dream.

Presentation
In the early 1990s, Jean-Michel Lourenço performed alongside rock bands: during their set, he painted on stretched canvases in a figurative style inspired by H.R. GIGER.
Himself a guitarist in several punk-rock groups for nearly 20 years, Jean-Michel Lourenço has always drawn his inspiration from music.
After a stint at the Beaux Arts in BESANCON, where he learned the different techniques of engraving, he began to paint canvases inspired by jazz and cinema.
He makes portraits in oil, stencil and also mixes the two techniques.
In a more Pop Art style, he creates canvases using torn posters.
Jean-Michel Lourenço also produced several frescoes adorning buildings in the town of VESOUL.
