Description

Summer at the Waters Edge' is an expressive oil painting capturing a quiet moment at the waters edge on a bright summer day. A woman stands in the shallow water while a group of bathers gathers behind her. The composition contrasts the cool turquoise and blue-green surface of the water with the warm coral, pink, orange, and violet tones of the shore. Above them, a luminous sky creates an expansive sense of space. Rather than pursuing photographic realism, the painting uses simplified forms, visible brushwork, and intensified color to convey the atmosphere and emotional memory of summer. The figures become part of the landscape, suggesting an everyday moment transformed through color and light. The work reflects the artists continuing exploration of nature, human presence, memory, and the beauty of ordinary moments, with influences from Impressionist and Fauvist approaches to color and expressive landscape painting.

Presentation

Anna Kober (b. September 16, 1987) is a self-taught contemporary artist whose work explores the profound relationship between humanity, nature, and the emotional power of light.

Anna began her artistic journey at the age of 35 as part of a deeply personal search for self-realization and purpose. Driven by a strong desire to create something meaningful and beautiful, she found in painting a language that allowed her to express emotions beyond words. Developing her skills independently, she cultivated a distinctive style shaped by observation, intuition, and continuous practice.

Although self-taught, Anna has continuously developed her artistic practice through professional artists' workshops, online courses, and independent study. She believes that learning is a lifelong process and continues to refine her technique while cultivating her own artistic voice.

Inspired by the changing seasons, quiet landscapes, and the poetry of everyday life, Anna creates expressive oil paintings that celebrate the harmony between people and the natural world. Working both in plein air and in the studio, she captures fleeting moments of light, reflections on water, blooming gardens, and peaceful walks, transforming ordinary scenes into emotionally resonant works of art.

Her paintings combine vibrant color, expressive brushwork, and an impressionistic approach to evoke feelings of serenity, hope, and connection. Through her work, Anna invites viewers to slow down, rediscover the beauty of simple moments, and reconnect with nature and themselves.

She believes that art has the power to inspire, bring comfort, and fill everyday life with beauty—creating not only paintings, but lasting emotional experiences.
