The Oil painting Cardboard titled "Across the autumn field" is a vivid and textured portrayal of the quiet majesty of an autumn landscape, where the golden tones of the earth meet the fiery brilliance of seasonal foliage beneath a vast sky. The artist's bold use of palette knife and thick impasto technique infuses the work with energy and tactile depth, transforming a simple countryside scene into a dynamic celebration of color, movement, and atmosphere. At the heart of the composition stand two tall trees, their foliage painted in deep crimson, warm orange, and rich brown hues. They rise dramatically against the soft expanse of the sky, serving as sentinels of the season. The artist layers these colors with bold, confident strokes, allowing the leaves to appear as though they shimmer in the late afternoon light. Smaller trees in the distance, rendered in shades of burnt orange and muted red, stretch across the horizon, forming a natural border that defines the openness of the field. The field itself, painted in warm ochres, siennas, and earthy browns, captures the essence of harvested land preparing for winter rest. A narrow path cuts across the field, leading the viewer's eye into the distance, evoking both movement and a sense of journey. This path, defined with lighter beige and touches of white, breaks the density of the warm ground tones and creates an inviting entry point into the painting. It feels worn, familiar, and full of stories, symbolizing the passage of time and the footsteps of those who have walked it across many seasons. The sky above contrasts the richness of the field with its cool, expansive palette. The artist has chosen a spectrum of blues, ranging from light azure to deeper, more muted tones, punctuated with billowing clouds touched by pale yellows and soft violets. This interplay between warm earth and cool sky creates a harmony that is both visually striking and emotionally resonant. The light in the sky suggests the end of a day, when the sun begins to soften its glow, casting gentle shadows and illuminating the landscape in golden brilliance.

Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
