Description
This artwork captures a striking aerial view of an illuminated metropolis, contrasting beautifully with a vast and vibrant sky. The orange and blue hues of the sky blend harmoniously with the meticulously rendered knife-painting details of the city, showcasing the artist's technical skill. Roads and rivers intertwine, forming a complex network that invites the viewer to explore every corner. The sky, with its clouds and chromatic variations, plays a central role, seeming to encompass and transcend the bustling city below. The work manages to balance the immensity of the sky with the urban density, creating an impression of simultaneous movement and calm. A captivating visual exploration of the coexistence of nature and urban life.
Presentation
Jean-Baptiste Lyonnet is a French painter born in 1978 in Abidjan (Cote d'ivoire). He spent his adolescence in Saint-Etienne and then in Belgium. He studied art at the Saint Luc Institute in Tournai, and then once he graduated, he came back to Saint-Etienne to study desgin at the Superior School of Fine Arts. He currently lives and works in the area of Rhône-Alpes.
He evolved in a figurative universe in which he found a predilection for urban subjects. On the canvas, Jean-Baptiste Lyonnet questions himself about space, the strength of elements, the architecture of the cities. He tries to transcribe the mood of the cities where he has lived: Paris, Lyon, Beirut. With his brushes, the city is captured but also transformed, sometimes even to abstraction.
Jean-Baptiste Lyonnet exhibits his work regularly in France. His pieces have also been selected for group exhibitions in Dubai and Madrid.
