Description
This intriguing work features a black anthropomorphic silhouette painted on a raw and textured textile background. The central figure adopts a dynamic posture with arms and legs spread, creating an effect of movement and primal energy. The simple geometric forms, featuring hands with widely splayed fingers, offer an abstract and almost totemic interpretation. The striking contrast between the deep black of the silhouette and the natural hue of the textile instantly draws the eye, revealing a harmonious balance between elements. The sense of equilibrium between simplicity and intense expression gives this piece a unique quality, oscillating between Art Brut and ancestral symbolism. Stripped back yet rich in meaning, this work invites contemplation and personal interpretation, capturing the essence of universal visual communication. On Papyrus paper.
Presentation
Categorizing Logovarda is complex but above all useless. Art brut? Singular art? Without doubt, but very reductive. Expressionist. Yes, without doubt, but beyond that. In Logovarda, what immediately strikes one is this visceral desire to seek, understand and stage this scriptural perception of our human nature. This totally labyrinthine work is the very meaning of Desire. Desire to cross the thicknesses of our gaze, of our capacities to cross the River. We must become a ferryman with him, follow Ariadne's thread, even if it means getting lost.
Logovarda's work impresses, in the physical, almost anatomical sense of the term, both by the strength of the "writing" and by his offbeat and humorous way of staging these disjointed, stretched characters, real puppets that life plays out. Yes, the artist's often painful labyrinths plunge us into the power of the myth, immerse us in it. There is a form of powerful expressionism that draws on the very ancient narratives of Man and carries us away.
