The Wisteria Princess – Panel 8 is part of a series of mountain landscapes and is the eighth of ten paintings illustrating the eponymous tale. Created in 2016, this work is an oil painting enhanced with sand collage on canvas, measuring 50 × 70 cm. The composition evokes a mountain landscape treated in a refined and suggestive manner, in the spirit of Chinese landscape painting. Architectural and natural forms appear on the verge of abstraction, as if suspended in a silent space. The blue-gray and light ochre masses unfold in a play of transparencies and overlays that allow the light background of the canvas to breathe. The sand, used sparingly, introduces a mineral texture reminiscent of steep paths and the ruggedness of the terrain. The oil paint, applied with broad and light strokes, suggests more than it describes, leaving the viewer free to reconstruct the landscape. In this series, conceived as a narrative scroll five meters long and seventy centimeters high, each panel functions as a visual breath within the story. This eighth panel corresponds to a moment of inner tension and turning point: the landscape becomes a mirror reflecting the main character's moral journey, oscillating between anxiety, confidence, and hope. Through its economy of means, its deliberate use of white space, and its graphic rhythm, The Princess of Wisteria – Panel 8 invites a slow and contemplative reading, where the landscape becomes a bearer of meaning as much as of silence.
