Original painting from our collection
This artwork showcases an urban scene dominated by a striking juxtaposition of architectural forms. In the foreground, a traditional, weathered building stands prominently, its muted tones contrasting with the imposing, modern high-rise looming behind it. The artist employs bold brushstrokes and a palette of cool blues and warm shadows to emphasize the difference in scale and time periods. A scattering of figures animates the street below, suggesting a lively interaction within this urban landscape. Overhead, power lines crisscross the sky, lending a dynamic sense of movement and connecting the composition's vertical and horizontal elements. The play of light and shadow deftly captures the essence of a bustling city, while textures provide depth and realism. This piece uniquely captures the tension and harmony between old and new, blending tradition with modernity in an evocative tableau.

Works in a creative workshop
Vyacheslav Babak is a recognized master of landscape painting. The artist's canvases are filled with lyricism and romantic mood.
His color palette is devoid of excessive expressiveness; in almost every painting, the image of nature is depicted using the quiet “sound" of soft halftones, giving lightness and depth.
