Patrick Rubinstein   Famous Artists

Patrick Rubinstein, a renowned French artist born in 1960, is known for his innovative approach to art, seamlessly blending multiple influences from various artistic movements. Currently residing and working in Paris, Rubinstein has made a significant impact in the art world, particularly through his three-dimensional pieces that offer viewers multiple perspectives. His works invite us to see several artworks from different angles, transforming each piece into a dynamic and interactive experience.

In 2020, Rubinstein's art was showcased in six galleries across the globe, including solo exhibitions at The Bel Air Fine Art galleries in Place des Vosges and Rue de Rivoli in Paris. As of 2024 and 2025, Rubinstein continues to captivate art enthusiasts worldwide with his cutting-edge creations and remains a prominent figure in the contemporary art scene.

A pioneer in Opt Art (or optical art), Rubinstein plays with visual perception, creating works that challenge the viewer's understanding of space and form. This genre, which gained popularity in the 1960s, delves into the illusionary nature of images, inviting the viewer to explore shifting perspectives and altered realities. Rubinstein's pieces, much like those of Vasarely, incorporate abstract elements, but with a figurative twist, allowing icons of pop culture to be reimagined and presented in new, unexpected ways.

Rubinstein's kinetic universe is a fascinating fusion of artistic movements, ranging from the Renaissance to Street Art, Pop Art, and Surrealism. His work is known for its boundless creativity and ability to breathe life into still images. This process of creating dynamic, living artworks has earned him international recognition.

Rubinstein's artistic journey includes notable collaborations, such as with renowned designer Philippe Starck, further elevating his profile in the global art scene. His works are exhibited in prestigious galleries worldwide, and in 2013, only five years after selling his first work to Durot, he ranked 89th in the Top 100 French Artists.

Through his groundbreaking work, Rubinstein redefines our perceptions of reality, offering a fresh perspective on art that resonates with collectors, critics, and art lovers alike. His contributions to Opt Art and his exploration of kinetic and interactive art make him a leading figure in the modern art world.
