Where the sun waits for us, 2026

Barbara Schaumann

This vibrant artwork captures a sunlit interior, seamlessly blending modern design with nature's splendor. Dominated by pink and turquoise hues, the space features sleek, contemporary furniture and expansive floor-to-ceiling windows. These windows reveal a picturesque view of palm trees and a glistening turquoise sea, suggesting a tropical paradise beyond the confines of the room. The strategic use of light casts intriguing shadows across the room, enhancing the dynamic composition. Unique elements include the bold color palette and the integration of indoor and outdoor environments, creating a harmonious, serene atmosphere. The bold geometric patterns on the floor and the reflections on the glass further emphasize the modern aesthetic, making this piece an alluring fusion of architecture and nature.

Barbara Schaumann's latest collection brings together traditional oil painting with delicate stitching to create vibrant, textured pieces. Inspired by the relaxed feeling of tropical holidays, these works invite you to slow down — to escape into moments of warmth, ease, and quiet longing.

With bold colours, soft light, and breezy compositions, the paintings capture the laid-back rhythm of holiday life. Added thread details, carefully stitched into the canvas, highlight small elements and bring a subtle, tactile layer to the work — adding intimacy and depth without overpowering the calm, open feel of each piece.
