Mario Bros Hommage Urbain, Circa 2026

Lasveguix

Between pixel nostalgia and urban energy.

With this striking work, Lasveguix revisits the universe of the cult video game Super Mario Bros. through a raw and contemporary street art aesthetic.

On a real subway tile, Mario appears in a pixelated version, immediately reminiscent of the iconic mosaics of street artist Invader.

The work is a visual explosion:

Colored fragments, torn textures, graphic overlays…
A controlled chaos in which Mario emerges, surrounded by iconic elements of retro video games.

The pixel becomes matter.
The game becomes memory.

Invader's influence is acknowledged, but subverted: here, everything is more raw, more organic, more alive.

Before, he was on a screen.

Small. Square. Perfect.

Then he left.

He found himself in the street,
stuck to the walls,
mixed with posters, traces, and time.

Mario is no longer just a character.
It becomes an imprint.

A childhood memory
recomposed from the raw material of the city.

Each tear tells a story of an era.
Each color evokes a memory.

And in the center…
The pixel resists.
