Description
This extraordinary work is far more than a traditional painting — it is a fully hand-painted, unique art object (not a silkscreen print, not a reproduction) with strong presence, history, and urban character.
Created on the original door of a vintage SMEG refrigerator in a bold grass green, the piece merges iconic design with contemporary street-art aesthetics. The refrigerator door itself becomes both canvas and object: a fragment of everyday culture transformed into an uncompromising one-of-a-kind artwork full of personality and attitude.
Due to its solid form and industrial material, the work carries a distinct physical presence. It can be displayed as a wall piece or presented freely within a space as an independent sculptural object. The combination of the curved SMEG door design and the strictly monochrome black-and-white painting creates a clear, almost cinematic tension between design object and artistic intervention.
At the center of the composition stands Tizlu's iconic UFO-Boy — a young figure being pulled upward by a powerful beam of light from a hovering UFO. The scene captures that mysterious moment between reality and the unknown. The reduced monochrome aesthetic intensifies the dramatic impact of the composition, recalling stencil-based street art and direct urban visual language.
The raw presence of the painted surface emerges in direct dialogue with the original refrigerator door. The imagery and composition respond to the existing object as a support without overpowering it, creating an immediate, physical relationship between artwork and structure. This fusion of industrial everyday object and precise hand-painted intervention is what makes the piece so consistent and unmistakable in its expression.
For collectors of Tizlu's work, this object is a true one-off and far more than a painting. Created on an original SMEG refrigerator door, it exists exactly once in the world — with no reproduction, print, or digital copy ever able to replicate its physical presence, materiality, and energy.
With its compact yet powerful presence, the work functions simultaneously as an art object, an urban statement, and an iconic visual installation. It invites reflection on freedom, transformation, and the unknown — turning any space into a stage of attention, tension, and visual intensity.
Presentation
tizlu aka Tiziano Lucchese is an internationally known ultra-contemporary artist. He studied Art and Technology in the Netherlands and lives in Germany. His works as a multi-talented artist have been featured on television and showcased at prestigious international festivals. In addition to his work in the fine arts, tizlu worked as a director for commercials and fictional movies and editor for prime-time shows on major TV networks. His art is part of renowned fairs and private collections across the globe; from New York to Paris, from Australia to Canada.
tizlu's paintings appear as they were directly cut out of a living streetscape—where everything is possible, and nothing is mainstream. His artwork is the result of a refined blend of materials and techniques. He uses plaster, paper, and acrylic paint to create textures that evoke the appearance of weathered walls. On this foundation, he paints his unique motifs, layers drawings, messages, self-made stickers creating an art piece which becomes an urban patchwork reflecting the raw, spontaneous character of the streets and today's society.
