Description
An immersive dive into a sapphire abyss. This abstract painting captures a turbulent energy through fluid, swirling movements. Deep indigo tones collide with bright azure highlights to create a sense of profound depth. The composition feels organic. It evokes the churning of a midnight ocean or the vastness of a cosmic nebula.
The artist employs a rich layering of acrylic and pastel. This combination adds a tactile quality to the surface. White accents pierce through the darkness like distant stars or bioluminescent creatures. Each curve guides the eye in a rhythmic dance across the canvas.
The piece reflects a sophisticated exploration of form and emotion. It transforms a monochromatic palette into a complex narrative of light and shadow. The fluid strokes suggest a constant state of flux. This artwork balances chaos with a deliberate, meditative precision. The visual tension peaks in the center where dark pigments concentrate before bleeding into softer, translucent edges.
Presentation
Ara Deinde (born Aralola Oladeinde) is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Ibadan, Nigeria. Born in Lagos, he developed an early engagement with art through constant drawing and visual experimentation, a commitment that eventually led him to leave his studies in Agricultural Engineering in 2019 to pursue an independent artistic practice.
Ara was an artist-in-residence at KUTA Art Foundation in 2020 and 2021, an experience that significantly shaped his studio discipline and conceptual approach. His works have been exhibited in Nigeria, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and the United States, and he has undertaken several notable painting and mural commissions. He draws inspiration from artists such as Toyin Ojih Odutola, James Grashow, Florian Baudrexel, Pablo Picasso, and Yayoi Kusama, Ara’s work reflects an ongoing interest in form, narrative, and the layered realities of contemporary life.
