Description
This artwork captures a twilight sky where subtle shades of purple and pink blend harmoniously. The barely perceptible horizon presents an urban silhouette dominated by an imposing rectangular structure, reminiscent of an ancient fortress or religious building. Dark trees stand to the right, adding an organic texture to the scene. Volatile clouds extend upward, creating an atmosphere that is both peaceful and mysterious. The twilight light lends an almost dreamlike quality to the scene. The artist's technical skill lies in the ability to evoke so much depth and emotion with such a limited color palette, transforming this fleeting moment into a visual meditation on tranquility and the passage of time.
Presentation
Claude Francheteau was born in Nantes in 1971.
"I was lying on my back, near the river, my eyes plunged into the deep blue of the sky. At the edge of my field of vision, I could see the roofs and chimneys of buildings, lost in the vast area and giving it a sense. What I saw could be a way to paint."
Claude Francheteau deliberately claims to be a "landscape painter".
It is an infinitely political attitude that claims painting as a place of work, which favors Doing. He advocates drawing, "the probity of drawing," the inescapable drawing, and prefers simply to show.
He painted it. And usually his audience does him good which, in the face of his work, says breathe, feel, rise. Take a little height.
Norbert Marsal- Carl de Châteauneuf.
