Description
The artwork depicts a woman reclining on a richly ornamented red carpet adorned with swirling, golden floral motifs. Her subtly draped white dress contrasts beautifully against the scarlet background, accentuating the interplay of light and shadow on her body. Her relaxed posture evokes a blend of serenity and vulnerability, while her hand rests delicately on her waist. The artist has masterfully rendered texture, making the fabric silky and the skin almost palpable. The meticulous details of the carpet add depth and visual richness to the composition. This scene captivates the viewer, creating an atmosphere of intimacy and timeless elegance. The juxtaposition of warm colors and varied textures lends the work a quiet dynamism and remarkable artistic sophistication.

"Always fertile, Danielle Stora Darmon's highly dreamlike paintings surprise and naturally oscillate between a surreal classicism with striking effects and the cries of a wild freedom." (Univers des Arts)
