La Loba, 2026

Martsi (Nataliia Martsilenko)

“La Loba" is a work about an inner movement through the space of memory, intuition, and the search for the self. The female figure seems to move through a forest of inner time, gradually approaching her own identity. Her face is almost hidden by the movement of hair and air, making the heroine feel less like a specific person and more like a state - sensitive, transitional, and open to change.

The wolf appears not as a threat, but as an intuitive guide, an almost ghostlike companion along the path of inner searching. The contrast between the delicate floral dress and the deep forest enhances the feeling of both vulnerability and inner strength. The vertical lines of the trees resemble boundaries or thresholds that must be crossed.

The painting is created in mixed media. Transparent layers, the combination of different materials, and soft contrasts create an atmosphere of movement and transformation, where the painted surface itself conveys a sense of memory, change, and gradual inner unfolding.
