Mental Motions, 2024

Ara Deinde

Ara explores fluid, gestural movement in this painting to mimic the rhythms of the formation and development of ideas within the human mind. Thoughts swim and bounce around one another in an almost chaotic flow, but in that chaos, meaning and value are born.

This mesmerizing artwork bursts with vibrant, swirling colors and dynamic forms, capturing the viewer's imagination instantly. The canvas is dominated by intertwining ribbons of purple, red, orange, and green, creating a sense of movement and energy. Concentric circles and spirals interweave, drawing the eye into the depths of the piece. The background, a gradient of deep black and blue, enhances the vivid tones, making them appear almost luminescent. Splashes and streaks of paint evoke a sense of chaos and spontaneity, yet there is a harmonious balance in the composition. Three purple spheres hover at the top right, adding an intriguing contrast to the fluid lines. This artwork uniquely combines elements of abstract expressionism and futuristic abstraction, inviting endless interpretation and engagement. Its striking palette and complex structure make it a captivating focal point for any space.
