Description
This artwork depicts a majestic tree standing alone at the center of a shaded courtyard, casting soft shadows across the earthy ground. The background is dominated by a vivid yellow wall, contrasting beautifully with the deep green foliage. The subtle lighting captures a moment of stillness, evoking a sense of summer tranquility.
The meticulously rendered texture of the bark draws the viewer's eye to the tree's strength, symbolizing resilience in the face of time. The use of earthy tones and contrasts of light emphasizes the simplicity and harmony of the setting.
This painting invites introspection, offering a moment of pause in a serene corner far removed from the bustle of everyday life. The composition reflects a masterful technique that captures the essence of both nature and Mediterranean architecture.
Presentation
Maria Perello was born in 1961 in Sabadell near Barcelona. Between 1974 and 1978 she took drawing and painting classes in the studio of Ferràn Martí in Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona). Between 1979 and 1980, she studied graphic design at the Escola Eina, Vallvidrera. She graduated from the University of Fine Arts Sant Jordi, Barcelona in 1982. She works in a graphic design studio in Girona.
She has exhibited her work, since 1996 in Spain and since 2011 in France and Germany. Her current work focuses on swimmers, movement and water effects. Thanks to her perfect mastery of painting (Oil in a medium sometimes enhanced by a silver foil), she is able to depict her work from different angles.
Her swimmers are weightless, light and completely in their element. We even feel an urge to touch the refreshing water and to try their happiness. The subject is unique but each piece is different, reworked endlessly. It exudes a gentle, happy, sunny atmosphere, giving the viewer a desire to dive in...
