Description
A windmill rises against an explosion of electric color — acid green, hot pink, cobalt blue — its wooden blades cutting across a sky that pulses like a memory replayed too many times, edges blurred by distance and time. Two more windmills stand in the distance under a double sun, while small figures walk along the fields below, dwarfed by the landscape that shaped them.
This is the landscape of the artist's childhood — the place where her love of nature, and her very first paintings, began. But now, painted from migration, from far away, the familiar fields return not in their original quiet tones, but in neon: oversaturated, almost feverish, the way memory distorts a place once you can no longer simply walk back into it. The roots are still there, recognizable in form, but faded — softened by distance, intensified by longing, rendered in colors too loud for nostalgia and too vivid for forgetting.
"Faded Roots in Neon" is the artist's tribute to where her art and her love of nature first took shape — a homeland reimagined through the lens of distance, where the colors burn brighter precisely because the place itself feels further away.
