Description
Acrylic and oil paint and pastels on preprocessed wooden panel in wooden frame.
I do have a name for my new paintings: Abstract Symbolic and mystical Art.
This abstract composition evokes a primordial landscape. The artist blends oil, acrylic, and charcoal to create a dense, atmospheric depth. Dark, earthy tones anchor the base of the artwork. They suggest a fertile yet mysterious terrain. Above this foundation, vertical strokes rise like a spectral forest. These forms blur into a haze of cool grays and muted whites. The texture is rich and tactile. It captures a tension between chaos and stillness.
The visual narrative shifts from the heavy darkness of the earth to a pale, ethereal sky. This transition mirrors a journey from the material to the mystical. The application of paint is raw and intuitive. It avoids rigid structures to prioritize emotion. This approach transforms the canvas into a meditative space. The muted palette enhances the feeling of a distant memory or a forgotten dream. Every brushstroke contributes to a sense of vast, silent openness. The artwork concludes with a soft, flat horizon that balances the turbulent energy of the foreground.
Presentation
Geert Lemmers, free and liberal artist, Fine Photo Art, Painting and New Media.
Geert Lemmers was born in the mysterious Land van Maas en Waal in the Netherlands. His grandmother's stories about witches and secret societies have formed him as an artist.
He studied photography and photographic arts and worked as a freelancer for years making reportages and portraits for magazines and fashion photographs. After the digital revolution he could realize his dream by making art, the way he saw it. In 2008 Geert Lemmers won the professional art-price in his region and that was the start of a successful artistic career.
After years of collaboration with well-known painters, his possibilities only grew.
Geert Lemmers is interested in our world and in its cultural and sexual diversity. He works mostly project-based and his work is about "the world of people" as a sort of general research.
"The world of people is about men and women behind often beautiful looking facades in the middle of the chaotic universe we live in. I research the raw site of our lives represented as fairytales in a wonderland as a enlargement of our life. Enlarged characters in chaos, beauty and imperfection. In every new project I vary on this basic-entity."
Geert's works, however, are characterized [now that he is getting older] by an increasing need for abstract and highly simplified design, allowing more room for emotion and the mystical.
Geert's works are honored many times and his works were to be seen in several international art - magazines.
