Description
This portrait explores the deconstruction of the face through a cubist prism. The artist fragments the features to reveal several simultaneous perspectives. The gaze, divided between two expressions, guides the reading of the canvas.
The palette relies on ochre and pink tones. These nuances create a soft contrast with the dark green of the ribbon that highlights the neck. The line is assured, precise, marking the contours with graphic rigor.
The use of acrylic and charcoal brings a rich texture. The charcoal accentuates the depth of the lines and the relief of the geometric shapes. This hybrid technique reinforces the figurative dimension while moving away from classical realism.
The composition plays on the balance between colored masses and voids. The background, treated in luminous flat areas, highlights the architectural structure of the face. The whole exudes a contemplative serenity. The artist's signature appears discreetly in the lower right corner.
