Description
The ink spreads on the paper with total freedom. This creation born in 2022 explores spontaneous abstraction. The gesture is fast. The movement is instinctive.
The shades of black and Sienna earth intertwine in a play of transparencies. Dense areas are adjacent to almost ethereal washes. The composition seems to float in a pristine white space.
The minimalist approach gives way to the unpredictable. The material dilutes. It evaporates. The gaze circulates between the organic forms and the controlled voids.
This piece testifies to a search for letting go. The contrast between the force of the dark line and the lightness of the brown shades creates a subtle visual balance. The red seal applied in the bottom right signs the completion of this creative process.
Presentation
"The ear has nothing to do here!!! It is the eyes that hear."
I work my paintings on canvas or wood panel with oil paint, in several very thin layers and my silver photos are reworked on the computer.
My subjects of inspiration range from old paintings to images that cross my dreams and my times of meditation.
Any subject appeals to me and even more so the feminine…sacred, chaos, the soul and the spirit. Currently, quantum physics and field theory question me and push me towards these quantum tables!
Following a severe depression and lung cancer in 2015, I discovered a new medium, Indian ink and paper, which I call "evaporescences", these are abstract paintings and as spontaneous as possible. I also work in photography and digital editing.
