Description
The ink spreads with freedom on the white paper. The gesture is spontaneous. The composition is born from an instinctive movement.
A spot of deep blue attracts the eye. It seems to float in the center of a dark and organic structure. The contours are blurred. The ink dilutes. It creates gradients of gray and black that evoke fluid forms.
The balance rests on the contrast between the density of the pigment and the clarity of the support. A touch of bright red appears in the bottom right. This detail punctuates the composition. It brings a visual tension to the whole.
The minimalist approach leaves room for imagination. The material seems to evaporate. The result is a pure abstraction. This creation dates from 2021.
Presentation
"The ear has nothing to do here!!! It is the eyes that hear."
I work my paintings on canvas or wood panel with oil paint, in several very thin layers and my silver photos are reworked on the computer.
My subjects of inspiration range from old paintings to images that cross my dreams and my times of meditation.
Any subject appeals to me and even more so the feminine…sacred, chaos, the soul and the spirit. Currently, quantum physics and field theory question me and push me towards these quantum tables!
Following a severe depression and lung cancer in 2015, I discovered a new medium, Indian ink and paper, which I call "evaporescences", these are abstract paintings and as spontaneous as possible. I also work in photography and digital editing.
