Description
A serene composition where the architecture fades before the horizon. The gaze traverses a minimalist interior to reach the immensity of the sea. The straight lines of the frame and the wooden floor structure the space with precision.
The artist plays with a subtle balance between realism and geometric abstraction. The bluish tones of the water and sky respond to the warmth of a streamlined furniture. A azure armchair and a green plant bring a touch of life to this silent setting.
Between interior and exterior this oil painting explores the perception of place and time. The diffused light suggests a peaceful end of the day. The rigorous framing transforms the window into a picture within the picture. The whole invites contemplation of a frozen landscape, between fiction and reality.
The work is distinguished by its mastery of perspectives and its harmonious color palette. The smooth rendering of the surfaces accentuates the impression of absolute calm. Each element is arranged to guide the eye towards the horizon line and the dark silhouettes of the distant lands.
Presentation
Born in 1970, Gabriel Riesnert lives and works in Paris and south of France.
Since his early age Gabriel Riesnert has been fascinated by the beauty of plant forms and urban architectural lines. His passion pushes him to a practice of painting and drawing between photographic inspiration and urban realism. The artist's consideration of painting is essentially turned to a representation of what we see and perceive of these forms, whether they provide a fiction or an impression of beauty, of serenity.
Beyond the visual, the creation of a work for Gabriel Riesnert is an interpretive experience and a journey intimately linked to space and time. His paintings often represent spaces and forms that are inspired by the tradition of the natural and architectural landscape.
