Description
The energy of Pop Art takes on an animal subject with total freedom here. The gaze of the feline, central and intense, immediately captures attention. The black line, nervous and assured, structures the face while leaving room for a chromatic explosion.
The painter plays with marked contrasts. Cool tones of blue and purple oppose touches of orange and yellow. The application of acrylic mixes with the precision of the marker.
Dynamism is expressed through spontaneous paint splatters. These splashes bring a sensation of movement and modernity to the composition. The background, treated in gradients of green and beige, highlights the silhouette without stifling it.
The whole reveals a graphic approach inherited from visual communication. This piece, made in 2023, transforms a classic animal portrait into a colored and rhythmic study. The technical execution alternates between saturated areas and fine lines.
Presentation
Originally from the area of Paris, Martin lives now in the region of Sarthe. From his training at the Corvisart School(Paris) he has always had a taste for visual representation and layout.
He obviously turned to the world of communication by starting a career as artistic director in several advertising agencies before opening his own agency. Since he is always searching for artistic emotions, Martin regularly comes back to the universe of painting, touching other creative fields which allow him to rediscover the essence of pictorial expression.
Since 2017, Martin is one of the artists listed in the Akoun-Drouot.
