Description

Before the viewer emerges an image of a contemporary city, balanced between a recognizable urban landscape and free abstraction. Architectural silhouettes seem to materialize from a luminous atmosphere: the vertical lines of high-rise buildings dissolve into a pearl-gray sky, while streets and waterfronts transform into streams of color, gesture, and energy. The city exists here not as a precise geographical location, but as an emotional impression—a memory of movement, light, and the continuous rhythm of metropolitan life.

The composition is built around an expressive transition from the relative clarity of the upper section to the dynamic freedom of the foreground. In the distance, towers, bridge-like structures, and fragments of urban architecture appear through light, almost translucent brushstrokes. As the eye moves toward the foreground, recognizable forms gradually disappear, giving way to an intense painterly flow.

Turquoise, lemon yellow, green, coral, and orange accents ignite against the calm neutral background, creating a sense of inner luminosity. Fine lines, splashes, and spontaneous strokes of black, white, and red form an independent graphic layer. They evoke trajectories of movement, reflections of city lights, street networks, or invisible currents of human energy.

The work derives much of its expressive power from the contrast between airiness and spontaneity. The luminous upper section creates a sense of distance and stillness, while the lower field is charged with an almost musical dynamism. Here, color no longer describes objects but becomes an autonomous carrier of emotion.

The painting brings together elements of Abstract Expressionism and contemporary urban landscape. The city appears as a living organism—constantly changing, vibrating, and resisting any fixed form.
