Description
This composition examines the tension between emptiness and structure.
A deep black background forms a silent stage for a bright orange framework. The lines are precise. They create a rhythmic geometry that leads the eye across the canvas.
The artwork plays with spatial perception. Rectangular shapes overlap and shift. This creates a subtle impression of depth within a flat plane. The contrast is strong and immediate. It evokes a feeling of architectural rigor and modern clarity.
The balance is intentional. The weight of the dark areas anchors the bright orange edges.
Every angle is calculated so that a harmonious balance is maintained.
This work reflects the commitment to minimalism and the power of primary contrast. The focus is on the purity of the line and the intensity of the color.
The final result is a study of stability and visual energy.
The artwork is ready to hang.
Presentation
Klaus Hoffmann, born 1957
In his works, Klaus Hoffmann explores the interactions of colors and forms, the special color contrasts and the effect of pure monochrome color surfaces.
In doing so, he avoids figurative associations and orients himself towards the art movement of Concrete Art.
He mostly uses geometric forms, which can also show deviations and breaks.
His aim is to create works that only represent themselves and do not refer to things that are outside the pictorial space, in the visible world.
They should also enable a sensual experience of the colors and forms and their interactions.
He works with pure, high-quality pigments, which are rubbed into aqueous acrylic dispersion and applied in numerous thin layers to give the color surfaces depth and enhance their luminosity.
Self-primed raw linen, whose natural structure remains recognizable, serves as the picture support.
This incorporates the picture support into the work and creates an autonomous overall work.
Hoffmann was educated at the Wiesbadener Freie Kunstschule and Freie Kunstakademie Frankfurt, with a focus on painting, composition, and color theory.
