BANKSY Tribute – Mickey Pop Art, 2024

ArtRat

I propose a magnificent unique work by the French artist ARTRAT

Born in 1980, ArtRat is a street artist who has been passionate about art all along. Nourished by street culture and deeply influenced by major figures such as Blek le Rat and BANKSY, he developed a fascination for stencil art and engaged art very early on.

For many years, ArtRat invested the Parisian urban space by creating stencil rats, a symbol of freedom, resistance, and a critical gaze on society.

Long kept anonymous and ephemeral, his interventions dialogue with the street, the passerby, and the moment.

For the last few years, ArtRat has chosen to fully embrace his work and present his creations in the open. His works, while retaining the raw and engaged spirit of street art, now find their place on permanent supports, between urban art and contemporary art.

Through the figure of the rat, ArtRat questions the notion of power, freedom of expression, and the place of art in public space, with an aesthetic that is both poetic, provocative, and accessible.
