Description
The image unfolds like a degraded urban wall. The gaze moves through layers of torn and superimposed paper. This composition plays on the memory of surfaces. White dominates the upper part of the space, giving way to areas of deep shadow.
A turquoise blue asserts itself in the center, bringing a mineral coolness. Splashes of ochre and yellow come to punctuate the scene. These colored touches suggest fragments of forgotten posters.
The work on the material is central. The irregular edges create a jerky rhythm. The successive superimpositions bring a tactile depth. The contrast between the opaque areas and the translucent parts structures the composition.
The whole evokes the passage of time and erosion. Each layer tells an invisible story. Tension builds between the chaos of the tears and the balance of the hues. The light seems to glide over the reliefs of the support, highlighting the fibers of the paper and the traces of gray paint.
