Description
A tranquil city scene unfolds under a muted evening sky. The artist painted a study from life in the winter of 2016 in a single session, using the alla prima technique. The palette remains soft. Pale yellows and cool blues dominate the composition. The light sources are the blue lights on the trees and the nighttime illumination of the buildings. This glow casts a warm brilliance across the facade of the surrounding architecture. Each brushstroke builds a tactile surface.
The artist captures a moment of urban stillness. Bare branches reach upward. They create a delicate organic screen against the rigid lines of the buildings. A low fence guides the eye toward the centered light source. The atmosphere is heavy with a quiet, nocturnal peace. It evokes the feeling of a solitary walk through a sleeping neighborhood.
This artwork balances architectural precision with an impressionistic touch. The play of artificial light against the dimming daylight creates a subtle contrast. Soft blue tones settle into the shadows of the foreground. The composition leads the viewer into a contemplative space. It concludes with the gentle reflection of light on the paved ground.
