Description
I paint life as an abstraction filled with colors and shapes. A world in chaos unfolds across the canvas, where a tumultuous dance of forms seems to defy gravity itself. Amidst these abstract figures, I highlight female bodies as an oasis of calm, peace, and tranquility in the eye of the storm. The canvas is rich with contrasts: harmony against confusion, stillness facing noise. I use female portraits to capture the beauty of calm amidst a chaotic world.
Presentation
Irina Barko is a contemporary artist working at the intersection of figurative painting, symbolism, and abstraction.
Origin and Location: Born in Belarus, she currently lives and develops her artistic practice in Málaga, Spain.
Artistic Style and Medium: The female portrait holds a central place in her oeuvre, seamlessly combining realistic facial rendering with abstract forms, dense textural layers, and levitating geometric elements.
Philosophy and Themes: Her work explores the transformation of chaos into harmony. Barko constructs visual metaphors by merging refined realistic detail with elements of naive art, the dynamics of color fields, and the pursuit of inner psychological balance.
Exhibitions: She actively participates in gallery exhibitions and international contemporary art fairs across Europe, including Spain and France.
