Description
Strata of Light - Contemporary Light Textured Abstract Painting
This contemporary painting is built around layered irregular forms shaped with a palette knife. The raised areas overlap across the surface, giving the composition a dense yet balanced structure.
The very light palette combines off-white, beige, cream and soft grey tones. Variations in thickness naturally create areas of shadow and light, reinforcing the depth of the composition. Depending on the lighting, certain raised sections become more pronounced and subtly alter the perception of the surface.
The texture paste gives the artwork a mineral and sculptural character, while the acrylic paint applied with a brush softens the transitions between the different areas. The edges are painted in titanium buff, extending the warm tones of the composition and providing a clean finish.
A matte varnish protects the artwork while preserving the raw appearance of the material and the softness of the colours.
A unique, hand-signed piece, delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
Presentation
Jonathan Pradillon, born in 1993 in France, is a painter whose work is distinguished by the audacity of his colors and his attraction to abstraction. His works, colorful and energetic, play with contrasts and capture the eye, inviting an immersion in his artistic universe.
After four years of studying computer graphics and crafts, he chose to move away from digital technology to devote himself fully to manual creation, exploring painting as his main means of expression.
Since childhood, he has been fascinated by colors , shapes and materials, which naturally leads him to diversify his practices. In addition to painting, he creates sculptures combining woodworking and metal assembly with arc welding, thus creating unique pieces that combine strength and delicacy.
A full-time artist since 2012 and officially declared in 2015, he continues his path with passion, constantly exploring new ways to bring his ideas to life.
