Description
This acrylic composition of 202 explores the balance between material and light. The eye travels across a surface patterned by vertical grooves. These grooves create a tactile relief. The work on texture contrasts the fineness of the grain with the thickness of the paste.
The artist plays with the contrasts of transparency and opacity. Orangey tones dominate the central part. They gradually blend into pale green shades on the edges. The whole follows a minimalist logic. The structure is organized around a central point of convergence. From there, the lines diverge like waves or geological strata.
The rendering oscillates between roughness and smoothness. Some dark touches punctuate the right side. They bring visual depth to the whole. The light seems to emanate from the bottom of the canvas. The final rendering emphasizes a precise research into the materiality of the support. The square format accentuates the stability of this abstract exploration.
Presentation
Each painting is a unique and special experience. It is above all a spiritual adventure. Thanks to the play of materials distributed on the canvases, accidents caused by chance, colored games, the surface can begin to live, to take a desired orientation which will open the sessions of painted experiments. The choice of binder is important, glossy or matt, oil or acrylic. I sometimes use fluorescent pigments to show with the help of a UV lamp, the same paint lights up by itself: it's the “kiss cool" effect, it's another way of enjoy.
