Description
This abstract composition evokes organic stratification through a succession of horizontal bands in earthy shades of oxidized red, deep brown, ochre, and beige. The dense and irregular texture suggests relief work, almost mineral in nature, where each layer seems to carry the memory of a rugged landscape. The piece exudes a silent strength, balancing raw matter and a contemplative rhythm, reminiscent of a geological cross-section.
This piece is a continuation of the artist's approach, rooted in the use of raw and natural materials. For this creation, a coating made of olive wood chips was applied directly onto the canvas. This coating generates a dense, organic surface where the olive chips create a subtle and irregular relief. Their presence introduces a tactile vibration—a living granularity that captures light in a fragmented way, giving the canvas an almost sculptural materiality.
The edges are painted in dark brown acrylic. The work is signed with short initials on the front and a full signature on the back. It is shipped with a certificate of authenticity and is part of the "Contact Color" collection.
