Carpe diem, 2018

Peggy

The artist captures the effervescence of a moment shared between women. Four figures appear with joyful assurance. The black line, intentionally irregular, emphasizes the spontaneous aspect of the scene. Each character is distinguished by a striking hair color and a bold style of dress. Polka-dot dresses and graphic textures rhythm the composition.
Pop Art is expressed here through sharp contrasts and saturated colors. The faces, with stylized features, evoke the aesthetic of comic books. Champagne glasses and a perfume bottle complete this festive scene. The inscription Carpe Diem invites one to savor the present moment. The color palette relies on a pale pink background to make the vivid tones stand out.
Acrylic allows for a matte and dense rendering. This painting from 2018 plays on the repetition of shapes and the lightness of the line. The whole forms a modern and optimistic vision of female friendship. The composition ends with precise details, such as golden jewelry and mischievous glances.
